Excursions and Activities in Dakhla – What Palais Rhoul Offers

Dakhla offers several types of outings — on the water, in the desert, below the surface. The Palais Rhoul organises a selection of excursions and activities for residents, according to availability and conditions on the day.

On the water

The house's own boat makes several types of outings possible. A lagoon exploration takes guests toward the quieter stretches of water — flamingos, fish, light on flat water. The fishing excursion goes out with local fishermen using traditional techniques; the catch varies by season.

Spearfishing is offered at selected sites, supervised by an experienced team. Back on board, the day's catch is prepared by Rachida.

The lobster picnic is a full outing: a morning crossing to a wild cove accessible only by boat, followed by a charcoal lobster grill on the spot at midday.

Stand-up paddle and kayak are available free of charge to residents directly from the private beach.

In the desert and surroundings

The Dune Blanche is the main land excursion from Dakhla — a drive into the sand landscape bordering the lagoon. Quad, horse riding, char à voile and electric motorbike are available through partner operators and can be arranged from the house.

Nordic walking in the desert is available for guests who want to explore on foot.

Trekking is offered exclusively during Detox weeks, organised directly by the Palais Rhoul.

Kitesurfing

Lessons are run by Kite No Limit, the Palais Rhoul's partner school, directly on the lagoon spot. Certified instructors, all levels.

Motorised water sports

Water skiing, mono-skiing and wakeboarding are available on the lagoon through partner operators.

At the house

Moroccan cooking classes with Rachida take place in the kitchen — spices, tagines, pastries. A local market visit can precede the session.

Yoga and tai chi classes are offered facing the ocean and the desert.
