White Dune in Dakhla
White sand, turquoise lagoon and ochre desert
The White Dune is one of Dakhla’s most emblematic landscapes: pale sand, a turquoise lagoon, the nearby desert and a vast sense of stillness — a place few experience this closely, only a few tracks away from Palais Rhoul Dakhla.
A 4x4 escape
Access is by private 4x4 from Palais Rhoul, following a flexible itinerary: tracks, viewpoints and stops are adjusted to the tide, the wind and the light of the moment.
Tide, swimming and contemplation
At certain times, it is possible to pause for a swim by the water. When the tide is not suitable, the experience centres on walking and the landscape.
A nomadic pause facing the lagoon
On request, the experience can be extended with a light snack or a picnic prepared in the spirit of the house — a simple, unadorned moment facing the lagoon and the lines of the desert.
How the excursion unfolds
The excursion to the White Dune is arranged according to availability, the weather and the day’s schedule. Departure is from Palais Rhoul Dakhla by private 4x4, at a pace adapted to each guest’s wishes.
Light clothing, a cap or hat, sunglasses and sun protection are recommended. Closed shoes or walking sandals are advised to make the most of the site.
The White Dune is a fragile landscape. We favour a respectful approach to the place, without plastic and without leaving any trace behind.
