Dakhla has become one of the reference kitesurfing destinations in the world. The trade winds blow consistently, the lagoon is flat and shallow, and conditions work for all levels. Kite No Limit is the school on the spot.

The conditions

The trade winds that cross the Dakhla lagoon blow steadily, averaging between 15 and 25 knots. What makes the spot unusual is the combination of reliable wind and a protected water surface: the lagoon is wide, shallow and largely free of swell or current. Riders can train without stress, attempt new moves, or learn from scratch without the complications of open ocean conditions.

The lagoon

The lagoon stretches several kilometres. Its calm, warm water suits beginners and experienced freestylers equally. Dedicated zones separate school areas from open riding areas, which keeps the spot organised and safe. Falls here are straightforward — flat water, no rocks, immediate recovery.

Kite No Limit

Kite No Limit is based directly on the lagoon and is the Palais Rhoul's partner school. Instructors are IKO certified and speak several languages. Lessons are structured progressively and adapt to each rider's pace. Equipment is current and maintained. A boat assistance system is available for sessions in open water. Courses range from introductory lessons to multi-day intensive programmes, with options for accommodation and activity packages. Reservations can be made by email before arrival.

Beyond the session

The lagoon hosts flamingos, cormorants and pelicans — visible from the water during most sessions. After riding, the Dakhla desert, local markets and the Palais Rhoul's spa and table are a short distance away.

Reservations and enquiries by email only.
